Nathan, the sweetest boy we all know, is going through a heartbreaking medical diagnosis. He has already fought and beaten brain cancer once, just last year. In July of 2024, he was so excited to ring the bell signaling the completion of his chemo treatments. His MRIs showed there was no sign of cancer, and the family was truly thankful for how well he did through it all. Nathan was incredibly brave, strong, and such a fighter. We saw him grow closer to the Lord and impact people's lives all around him. It was a joy to see him regain his strength after all the treatments and watch his hair grow back. His spunky, happy attitude continued to shine more and more. He made up more dad jokes and became more like the Nathan everyone knew and loved.
On January 13th and 15th of this year, Nathan had two routine MRIs on his brain and spine. The family was thankful that the results for his spine came back clear of cancer. Unfortunately, they received the devastating news that the brain results showed two cancer spots in his ventricles. The doctor was surprised it came back after only six months and believes it may continue to return. Despite this, the family believes in faith and declaring healing once again. They aren’t sure yet what the plan of action will be, but the doctor has discussed surgery, radiation, and chemo in different ways than the first time. The family is now waiting to hear from UCSF and the Kaiser Neurosurgeons about the next steps.
Nathan is their pride and joy, and the whole family feels incredibly blessed to have him in their lives. Right now, while he's feeling well, they are having him make a list of fun things he loves to do and are trying to make those wishes come true.
