Rally for My Uncle's Healing and Comfort

My Uncle Doug was diagnosed with cancer in 2023. From the point of discovery, he along with the support of his loving wife and daughter have tried whatever possible to beat it.

Firstly, doctors attempted surgery to remove the original tumor in his lung. Unfortunately, it was determined to be too close to his heart to operate. After waking from anesthesia to hear the news, my uncle continued on through many other treatment options. Between radiation, chemotherapy and a type of immunotherapy over the course of the year we were hopeful something would work. My uncle remained fighting through the sickness/nasty side effects and his family remained hopeful by his side. Through these treatments, doctors were able to see the tumor shrinking, and giving us a bit of good news. However, this past Thanksgiving week my uncle started feeling extreme sickness, headaches, and needed to be taken to the ER. On Thanksgiving day, it was revealed by MRI to be a cancerous brain tumor that needed to be removed immediately. Saturday, November 30th doctors had success in removing that portion from his brain, stitched him up and sent him home within days.

As to what comes next, we hope to keep him comfortable on his way to healing.

His amazing wife has taken time from work to remain his biggest support system and we would like to take just a little bit of the stress they’ve felt through medical bills off their shoulders. Helping to alleviate some of that through any donation would be greatly appreciated and well wishes/prayers would be met with immense gratitude.

My Uncle is a kind, strong, and wonderful man. He enjoys listening to music, fishing with his brothers, and watching sports (including Notre dame football). He is a man that loves his family deeply, and we would like to show our love in return by starting this gofundme. Thank you for taking the time to read his story.
