Hi. On August 23rd, my mom was involved in a catastrophic fire that destroyed the house she was living in, and to date, ended the life of three of the five pets she lived with. We are still searching and desperately hoping to find the two we believe may have escaped the fire.

My mom turns 71 today. Her birthday one day after the most devastating loss she has experienced. My goal as her daughter was to keep her safe and living in a home she loved with the animals she loved. I took care of the things she needed, from helping purchase the house she lived in, to multiple daily visits to make sure she and the pets we cared for. She wanted to stay independent and I believed I was giving that to her. This loss has taken away her home, her pets, and her sense of safety and reasons to live. I will do anything to help build her life again. She did not have rental insurance as we didn’t charge her rent, and I never looked at her as a renter. She was my mom, who needed help and we provided that to her. You never think about things like that until now. It was not something we thought about.

She lost everything in the fire and we are asking for any donations to help build her life back. My mom has not had things easy, but I want to show her that she is loved, cared for, and not alone.
