Rally for Mr. Bristle's Road to Recovery

Donation protected
My name is Phil Marshall, and today, I am reaching out with a heartfelt request for support for a dear friend. Adrian de la Cerda (Mr. Bristle) is facing an unexpected hardship in his life — he is currently battling paraplegia (a spinal cord injury), affecting his ability to walk and progress in his independence. Due to his recent divorce after 20 years of marriage, he is without insurance. The out-of-pocket expenses to treat his current medical condition will be daunting. In the spirit of community and compassion, this fundraiser is to secure Adrian's access to vital rehabilitation and support him through a year of recovery. He is about to lose access to medical insurance and is unable to work until he's healthy.

Adrian is one of Houston's last cultural renaissance men - currently, he's owner/operator of Cool Head's Prevail Record Shop, former owner/operator of an innovative food truck concept, LadyBird, a venerated House music DJ (Mr. Bristle), a visual storyteller through his graffiti art, and a former Program Director/Curator who has enriched the East End through his work at the Orange Show Center for Visionary Art. He's helped set the rhythm for the city, and his advocacy for the Houston music and art scene has contributed to the bleeding edge aesthetic of Houston culture for decades. Adrian has mentored me and countless others - now, it's our turn to uplift him. Your support means more than just funding; it's a message of solidarity, so Adrian knows he is not alone in this fight. It's about giving Adrian the best shot at regaining independence and ensuring he can focus on recovery without the burden of financial stress.

How Funds Will Be Used:
The $65,000 goal has been set with careful thought, aiming to cover a significant portion of the rehabilitation and living costs for the next year. The funds will be allocated as follows:
- Extensive physical and occupational therapy sessions to maximize recovery potential.
- Essential medical supplies and equipment to facilitate day-to-day care.
- Basic living expenses to ensure stability and peace of mind during rehabilitation.

Any additional support exceeding our target will further contribute to Adrian's long-term care and related needs.

Your Impact:
Every donation, big or small, brings Adrian closer to recovery and a semblance of normalcy. Sharing this campaign within your networks is also incredibly valuable if you cannot donate now. Each share expands our reach and opens up possibilities for more support.

Together, we can provide financial assistance and a community of support surrounding Adrian with hope and encouragement.

Thank you for considering a donation to Adrian's recovery.
