My mom was just recently diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time. Last Wednesday, she had a mastectomy and will be out of work for 6 weeks because of it. She thought she qualified for disability and went through all the steps but was told due to it only being 6 weeks, it's considered 'short term disability' and she would only be paid for 'long term disability'. She still has bills to pay in the time she's out of work. Chemo to follow.

Update: June 2, 2025…

Last week mom had her appointment with her cancer doctor to discuss chemo. Starting next Wednesday June 11th she will be starting chemo and will have 6 rounds every 3 weeks. She was supposed to return to work June 25th and now won’t be returning for awhile (no date as of yet). We’ve started the process of getting her set up with disability but that’s a process, last time it took 3 months for her to receive anything. So until that kicks in she still needs help.❤️
