Hi everyone,
I’m starting this for my brother and his wife. After a tough couple of days they had to put their beloved Lady down due to contracting Parvo. I want to emphasize that Mikiah and Hillary are both very hard working and independent individuals and this fundraiser was encouraged by their family members to help them get through a tough time in their lives. We want to ensure them that their community is here to support one another during rough times.
Over the past 96 hours, their young dog Lady experienced rapid deterioration of her health due to contracting the Parvo virus. She was vaccinated for this as a puppy and it is in rare cases that animals can still contract the disease with the vaccination. She spent roughly the last 48 hours in the vet clinic where it was ultimately decided this morning that she needed to be put to rest to escape the suffering she was facing. The vets did everything they could to help care for her.
If you were fortunate enough to meet Lady you knew the kind hearted and playful soul that she was. She was the best dog Mikiah and Hillary could have hoped for and she will be missed dearly.
We are asking for assistance to help Mikiah and Hillary meet the high expenses of this sudden onset of veterinary bills that no one could have had time to plan for. With all of the tests and 24 hour support of being hooked up to machines and monitors, these vet bills racked up to nearly $8,000. Again, I want to stress that this is not an easy thing for them to accept but I, and the rest of our family, have encouraged them to let us help them out so they can mourn the loss of their pet without the stress of financial burden weighing on them as well. These bills came out of nowhere and we are hoping to help them out as much as we can.
Any amount that people are able to donate will help greatly and will go to two of the most deserving people we all know and love. Let’s rally and help Mikiah and Hillary stay on their feet and not get weighed down by an already emotionally exhausting time in their lives.
They are going to get the other two dogs checked to make sure they are safe from Parvo as well.
Thank you from the whole Sully family.
