Rally for Mike's Health and Recovery

This fundraiser is for my father Mike Snow.

Dad has had quite an exciting last 6 months, It started when he felt a lot of pain in his stomach like acid reflex back in July, come to find out he had a small heart attack and had a few high 75-99% blockages on the left arteries on he heart. Thankfully the doctors at Fairview Southdale took care of him with a double bypass and he bounced back in a record time of 3 days! He also had a 80% blockage in his carotid artery that he would have to come back in a couple months to get cleared as well.

Unfortunately a week later he was back in the hospital. The doctors ran tests and scans that found he had a stricture in his duodenum, they attempted to get through the blockage and sent him home a couple days later. By the end of the next weekend he was back in the hospital and it was clear the fix didn't work in his duodenum, his stomach was the biggest the nurses in the ER had ever seen without rupturing. The GI doctor said it was clear that no food had been passing for about 1 month. They did an MRI to get a better look at what is going on that area, that's when they found a mass in the head of his pancreas as well. SO the great surgeons at Fairview Southdale came in clutch again with a gastrojejunostomy procedure. a week later he was out of the hospital with a plan to clear his carotid artery a month later and an endoscopy to biopsy his pancreas a month after that.

The Carotid artery surgery went great! nothing note worthy :)

Endoscopy a month later got taken care of and 2 weeks after that the unfortunate news of Pancreatic cancer came into his life. The GI doctor who performed the endoscopy Staged dad T3 N1 M0 meaning stage 3 with lymph node involvement. sent us to Minnesota oncology for an oncologist and a family friend recommended us a surgeon over at Abbot northwestern.

Oncologist agreed with the GI doctor and staged dad at 3, gave us a treatment plan of Chemo for 6 months, 1 week on 1 week off.

Now that brings us to the more recent news of the Surgeon that we met with on Monday the 13th of January, He gave us the good news that the cancer is operable! The current treatment plan with operable Pancreatic cancer is to do chemo for 6 months to stop or shrink it, radiation/chemo combo for a month or 2, and then cut the head of the pancreas off(more technical stuff but thats the idea)

Because of all this my dad hasn't been able to work since the last week of July 2024.

Were raising money to help pay for medical bills and living expenses for the time being. Anything and everything is very much appreciated. Were all taken aback and thankful for everyone reaching out and asking how they can help. were so lucky to have an amazing support system.
