Dear Friends and Family,

As some of you may have heard, my beloved sister Melody was diagnosed in May with breast cancer. The initial reports indicated a very small tumor that would require a lumpectomy and a month of radiation. 2 weeks ago she had the lumpectomy and removal and testing of two lymph nodes. During this time, she quickly used up her sick days with numerous medical appointments. Last week, she was notified that one of the lymph nodes tested positive for cancer so she has a 2nd lumpectomy scheduled for tomorrow and the doctor has ordered she take 6 months off of work for chemo and radiation therapy, both of which are extremely hard in the body. Fortunately, at the moment, Medicare is helping with the medical bills but she relies on her job to help her amazing hubby with basic necessities like bills and groceries for their household.

I am reaching out with this fundraiser in the hopes of alleviating some amount of stress during this challenging journey she has ahead of her. To know her is to love her and she is a fighter. I want to keep her spirits up in any way I can!
