Support Megan's Recovery from Cardiac Arrest

Donation protected
We’re reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for your support for Megan Talley, her husband Chad, and their 10-year-old daughter, Cora.

Last week, after getting ready for bed, Megan went into sudden cardiac arrest while sitting in her recliner. Paramedics arrived quickly and were able to restart her heart. She went into cardiac arrest for a second time at the hospital and was then airlifted to Holmes, where she remains in the ICU on a ventilator through a tracheostomy tube.

Doctors believe the cardiac arrest was caused by an embolism related to a recent surgery. The resulting lack of oxygen also caused a mild to borderline moderate stroke. Megan is currently unable to respond verbally, but she is showing encouraging signs—she can move her hands, feet, and head, and is tracking with her eyes. Her neurology team has expressed hope for recovery, especially given her age and the relatively mild nature of the brain injury. Still, recovery could take days, weeks, or even months.

Megan began hospital physical therapy recently and responded very well—an important and hopeful first step.

This has been a devastating and uncertain time for her family. Chad is now navigating the emotional toll and logistical challenges of caring for Megan, while also trying to keep life stable for their daughter, Cora. With medical costs mounting, travel between hospitals, missed work, and the unknown length of recovery, they need our help now more than ever.

We’re raising funds to support the Talley family with medical bills, travel, child care, and essential living expenses as they face this difficult road ahead. Any amount you can give is deeply appreciated. If you’re not able to donate, please consider sharing this page with others.

We also kindly ask that friends and family refrain from messaging for updates at this time, as Chad and the family are focused entirely on Megan’s care and Cora’s well-being. We will make updates on this page as we have them.

Thank you for your love, positive energy, and support.
