Rally for Mark: Overcoming a Brain Tumor
Donation protected
For decades, Mark Nilsson has been a beloved and intricate member of the Columbia River Gorge and has painted the spirit of this amazing place into life. His brushstrokes have captured the wild beauty of the river, the quiet power of the cliffs and mountains. It's Pete on the wall at Double and The Martini Girl, we all loved and admired at Brian's. It brings joy where people need it most. In murals at schools, hospitals, retirement centers, buildings celebrating our farming community, and your favorite local dive bar. I could go on. Mark’s work doesn’t just reflect the Gorge—it celebrates it.
Mark is not just an iconic local artist. He is a friend, a mentor, and an inspiration to countless people who have been touched by his art and his heart.
Today, Mark is facing a brain tumor.
The news has been overwhelming, and while Mark is approaching this challenge with his trademark courage, grace, and witty humor, he now needs the support of the community he has given so much to.
This fundraiser is here to help Mark focus on healing while we rally around him.
Your support will go directly toward:
Covering urgent medical expenses and treatment costs
Supporting Mark through recovery and rehabilitation
Helping maintain his home and art studio so he can continue creating when he’s ready
Offering Mark the peace of mind he deserves during this difficult time
Every donation, no matter the size, is a step toward helping Mark through this chapter. If his art has ever brought you joy, comfort, or inspiration, please consider supporting his journey today.
Thank you for helping us lift up Mark with love, hope, and community.
Share your favorite memory or piece of Mark’s art in the comments — let’s surround him with the beauty he’s shared with all of us.
