Good morning, my lovely friends and family! As you all know, we do not live in a perfect world because in a perfect world, everyone would be healthy, happy, and debt-free! It is with a heavy heart that I share with you that my brother Mark has been diagnosed with small cell lung cancer! He went to his primary care doctor a few times due to shortness of breath, coughing, and passing out, and he was told he had severe bronchitis on two separate occasions! No chest X-ray was done; again, not a perfect world! The day after Thanksgiving, his breathing became worse. He went to the emergency room, and they did a CT scan and found a mass the size of a grapefruit in his right lung! He was told immediately that he had lung cancer, but they were unsure of the type and extent! This mass had collapsed his right lung and was pushing on his heart! They did surgery to place a stent to open up his airway, which aided in reinflating his lung, and took a biopsy, which yielded the diagnosis of small cell lung cancer! He has started chemo and has just finished his 1st week! As most of you know, we are still grieving the loss of our mother, who passed in October, so to say we are a little vulnerable is an understatement! We need the help from family and friends desperately to get us through this! Please, please, please share, like, donate, give us a big warm hug, send words of encouragement; anything and everything is welcomed and appreciated! Love you all!
