Mandy Richardi needs our help!

Most of you know her one way or another, I'm sure. Feisty, independent, truthful, sometimes blunt, and prone to dropping the F-bomb at times, but beneath the tough exterior is a soft heart that loves corgis and cats. Some of us know her as the ultimate Windstone repair expert, others as a talented artist, hard worker at Lowe's, or more. Some of you may be close family and friends. Some may be acquaintances.

But she needs our help. She's facing a major surgery. Cerebrospinal fluid is leaking out her nasal/sinus area and they need to do major surgery to fix it. How major? Making a window in the skull to push the brain out of the way to repair things, major! It's as close to brain surgery as you get without actually cutting the brain. This includes, literally, a facelift, to access the area. Yeah, pretty gruesome sounding. Add in that she is going to lose her sense of smell, for sure. Small sacrifice for almost brain surgery but still, that sucks big time (as many who caught Covid can attest). Plus a big haircut and she'll likely need a gangster-style headscarf for a bit while things heal to hide the scars. Likely all in all, a headache in more ways than one for her. It's a lot to handle.

On the bright side, she's got a good medical team and her aunt and boyfriend aren't running for the hills but instead being very supportive. Friends are rallying to her aid. And she's gonna need us.

Hospital bills and inability to work during this mess are gonna be a secondary headache after the surgery. She doesn't earn a lot. And surgery like this is far from cheap. Her insurance covers maybe 60% but when the hospital surgery bill (for JUST the surgery) can hit $80,000 that's still a LOT of money she'll need! And that's not adding in the surgeon's bill, anesthesiologist bill, tests, hospital bed bills, and any folliwup tests (or care if she gets an infection), its gonna bite hard financially.
