Mama Conley needs your help.

Most of you know, mom fell in July and broke her Femur (thigh bone) in multiple places. She had emergency surgery done and has had several set backs. There was a problem with her blood pressure dropping and staying too low. This caused issues with proper pain management - they are not allowed to give you any narcotics if your blood pressure is too low. We finally got her BP stabilized, pain under control, and she was transferred to a Skilled Nursing Facility for recovery/rehab.

She has been there 2 weeks and during that time, her incision has become infected with 3 different types of bacteria! They have had her on IV meds and will remain on them for 14 days. She is also scheduled for surgery again on Monday to take a look inside her leg to make sure that it is a superficial infection and hasn't made it to the bone. She also has a pressure sore on the bottom of her foot that they are paying close attention to as she is diabetic.

Here comes the dilemma - her insurance will only cover 28 days inpatient. And she is already on day 23. After she exhausts those approved days, she will be a charged $214 a day copay. This is going to add up quickly! She is in NO way ready to be discharged yet but we are hoping it will be soon .Not only does she need the IV antibiotics, she will have to become mobile (meaning she can walk with assistance). She will be moving back to my house once she is able. We will also have to pay a portion of the Home Health nurses to come. Her insurance will only pay for 3 days a week. Luis and I both work full time and cannot be here all day.

Mama Conley is known and loved by everyone! Growing up in small town Montgomery and working at the local electric company, everyone knew her! She was the one that all of our friends love! As a matter of fact, one of those friends wrote an essay for college about "Mama Conley's house"!

Let's show her how much she is truly loved and take this weight off of her shoulders, worrying about money.
