Rally for Lisa's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
On Saturday, April 26th, my mom, Lisa, was involved in a motorcycle accident. She was immediately transported to Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center emergency room, where she was evaluated for multiple traumatic injuries and admitted to their surgical trauma ICU. After many scans and X-rays, it was determined she had a fracture at the base of her skull (occipital condyle), 3 vertebral fractures (L1, L3, & L5), 7 broken ribs, a fracture to her fibular neck of her left leg (one of the bones in the lower leg), a posterior malleolus fracture on the left side also (back of the tibia (shinbone) at the ankle), and is currently awaiting an MRI of her right knee for possible ligament injuries. All of that said does not even include a great amount of road rash and bruises.
Lisa has already had surgery on her left leg/ankle and is waiting to see if additional surgeries are needed. With these injuries comes a long road of recovery, likely requiring rehabilitation/therapy after her hospital stay, which we yet to have any timelines on. As we all know, she will be out of work for quite some time, and unfortunately, the regular bills continue to come, and then will come a hefty load of hospital bills. If anyone feels led to help financially, it would be so very appreciated; every penny helps! We understand that while you may not be able to help in that aspect, we ask that you please continue to pray for mom's recovery and the things to come. These injuries are not for the weak! We know that our Lord and Savior is the ultimate healer, and no matter what, He will take care of her through it all! Thank you guys from the bottom of our hearts
