Support Lindy in her battle against brain tumors
Donation protected
On April 10th, Lindy went in for a routine eye appointment. Her Optometrist noticed pressure behind her left eye and sent her to ER immediately for an MRI. Her, eventual, diagnosis was 2 massive Schwannoma tumors. These are rare tumors that form on the end on your nervous system. Unfortunately, her tumors were located on the left side of her brain. One behind her left ear, that may have contributed to knocking out her hearing some years ago, and the other on her brain stem. Her first brain surgery, on April 17th, lasted 12 hours, and resulted in only part of her tumors being removed. A second brain surgery on May 21st, lasting 16 hours, resulted in more tumor removal, but unfortunately, caused what we hope to be, temporary paralysis on the left side of Lindy’s face. On Sept. 25th Lindy began a series of 30 radiation treatments to shrink the tumors, as much as possible, and eliminate their future growth.
If you know Lindy, you know that she has a smile that lights up a room and an energy that is so amazing it’s contagious. Just the sound of her voice exudes cheer and happiness! Throughout this year, as difficult as it’s been, she remains positive and upbeat, knowing that this is a setback for sure, but also something she will get through. The support from Lindy’s family; her husband Matt, her 11 year old son Ryan, her 14 year old daughter, Emily and her mom Maria, Dad John and her sister Jackie, has been unwavering, not to mention the outpouring of support from her friends, co-workers, and the cheer community in Rocklin. Did I forget to mention that she still coaches cheer for Rocklin Whitney Wildcats, during this whole ordeal.
While Lindy is a very strong and proud individual and would prefer not to have help, we are asking for your prayers, support, and generosity as we rally around her and her family during this incredibly difficult time. Any donation, big or small, and voluntary of course, will make a huge difference during this challenging time. Lindy and her family are deeply grateful as it will provide much-needed help for the mounting medical bills, loss of wages, transportation to/from UCSF and hotels in the bay area.
