No diagnosis, no treatment—help Linda get to UCSF and reclaim her quality of life
A Lifetime of Giving—Now Linda Needs Us
For over 40 years, Linda has been a steady light in our community.
A former foster parent and Home Economics teacher in the Kent School District, Linda has dedicated her life to raising, educating, and caring for children. For the past 37 years, she has run a loving, at-home daycare—supporting working families and shaping the lives of generations of kids.
She’s also cared selflessly for others—nursing both of her terminally ill parents through their final days, and always opening her doors to family and friends in times of need. Linda has been there for so many. Now, she needs our help.
A Sudden, Unexplained Decline
On May 2, 2025, Linda woke up with terrifying stroke-like symptoms:
•Extreme vertigo
•Loss of balance
•Severe confusion and “word salad”
•Vision and hearing loss
•Inability to walk, bathe, cook, clean, or care for oneself.
•Impaired breathing, requiring oxygen use 24/7
She was rushed to the ED and later admitted for testing. While her symptoms resembled a stroke, multiple specialists—including a neurologist, neurosurgeon, and ENT—have confirmed she did not have a stroke and have no explanation for the extensive loss of balance. Unfortunately, after nearly 3 months of testing and appointments, Linda remains undiagnosed and untreated.
She still cannot walk without assistance. She cannot safely shower, cook, or be left alone. Her hearing and vision have both been severely affected. Linda’s life changed overnight, and she has not been able to return to work or care for herself since.
Full-Time Care & No Clear Path Forward
Because of the severity of her condition, Linda now requires 24/7 care. Her daughter has taken months of leave under FMLA to provide full-time support and navigate the overwhelming medical maze.
We are now seeking a second opinion at UCSF Medical Center in California, hoping that specialists there can finally provide a diagnosis—and a path to recovery.
