I’m Chad , a close friend of Lawry and his family, and I’m reaching out with an urgent plea to support a true community legend. On Monday, August 4, 2025, Lawry suffered a devastating accident at home while preparing for work. He passed out in his bathroom, fracturing his lower back and suffering internal stomach bleeding that had gone unnoticed for three days. Thanks to the quick thinking of his 11-year-old son, Tyson, who called his mum, an ambulance rushed Lawry to Blacktown Hospital. Doctors discovered he was bleeding to death and performed emergency surgery to stabilize him. After seven gruelling days in the hospital, Lawry is now home, but his recovery journey is just beginning.

Lawrence is going to be off work for months, his leave entitlement will be exhausted shortly and his wife now has to care for him and there children. She is off work with no leave entitlement as she is casual.

For years, Lawry, alongside his anonymous donors, has been a beacon of hope for hundreds of families in our community. Through his own Charity he’s provided weekly groceries, household items like couches, beds, fridges, TVs, clothing, and blankets to those struggling to make ends meet. During COVID, Lawry tirelessly delivered food to single mothers, fathers, the elderly, and our most vulnerable, ensuring no one went hungry. He mentors men and young boys through BroFit, fostering strength and confidence, and supports local schools with fitness programs and supplies. His generosity even reaches Samoa, where he funds school supplies to help children access education. Lawry’s heart is always with his community—even from his hospital bed, he asked me to check on families and young people to ensure they had food and support.

Lawry has spent his life uplifting others, and now it’s our turn to stand up for him.
