Supporting Kyleigh: A Life Devoted to Others, Now in Need Herself

Kyleigh is 33 years old, and for as long as she can remember, she’s been driven by one mission: to help those who need it most—both people and animals alike. With a degree in Health and Human Services, she began her career working with at-risk youth, guiding them toward better futures. That passion soon led her to a role supporting children with autism—work that didn’t feel like a job, but a calling.

Most recently, Kyleigh has been helping underprivileged families navigate complex systems to access essential benefits—things many of us take for granted. Before all of this, she also dedicated time to caring for animals in shelters and sanctuaries. Her life’s work has been about compassion, service, and standing up for the vulnerable.

But as is often the case with caregiving professions—teachers, social workers, first responders—Kyleigh’s work has been deeply meaningful, yet modestly compensated. That’s what makes her current situation all the more difficult.

Kyleigh was recently diagnosed with both mouth cancer and breast cancer.

While the prognosis is hopeful, the financial burden is already overwhelming. As many of us know too well, the U.S. healthcare system can be brutally expensive—especially for those who have spent their lives giving rather than receiving.

Kyleigh is the kind of person who doesn’t ask for help. She’s been determined to face this head-on, without leaning on others. But cancer is a heavy load to carry alone.
