Rally for Kyger: Healing from Tragedy

Donation protected
If you've met him, you love him.

Kyger is one of the most genuine, big hearted people many of us have ever met. He is a wonderful friend, a fun cousin, a loving and proud brother and a cherished son. He is the kind of person you are truly lucky to know.

On April 13th, Kygers life was forever changed. He was walking, on the sidewalk, when an intoxicated driver went across the opposite lanes of traffic and hit him. The driver fled, but thankfully witnesses stayed with him until first responders could get there. While he does have many injuries, the fact that Kyger is alive is nothing short of a miracle - and we are so thankful for that. He was flown to Grant and is in the CCU.

As a result of the carelessness of another person, Kyger - a very physically active person, had his left leg amputated almost immediately. He is currently on a ventilator and has had several surgeries, with more to follow. His body needs to heal, and given the extent of his injuries, this will be a long process. Aside from the physical and mental aspect of healing after an amputation, his body is working hard to heal the trauma to other organs. His kidney, liver, spleen and lungs suffered trauma and he has several broken bones. Continuous monitoring of multiple moving parts makes his recovery tricky - and for that reason, his immediate family has not left his side. Kyger still is not aware of what happened to him - understandably. Good news is that his brain and spinal cord look fine! He is receiving blood transfusions as a precautionary measure in anticipation of further treatments and surgeries.

Kyger is truly loved. Aside from the physical and mental burden this will inevitably have on him - as with any unexpected medical event - there will also be a financial aspect. Kygers immediate family have not left his side. We are humbly and gratefully asking for any donations to lighten the financial load for them so that they can continue to miss work to stay by his side, grab food on the go, gas and other expenses that tend to add up quickly in situations like this.

Kygers future will also be filled with various appointments, prosthesis, etc.

All donations will go to his father, Kenny (the beneficiary of this) to distribute as he sees fit and to meet immediate issues.
