A little update for today. A friend has taken care of the air fare to get her to Oklahoma City to start treatments. Woo Hoo what a blessing!! Immediate needs right now is $500 towards the testing, $600 for the hotel stay, $1,700 for a car for the month and $200 for food. We can do this! Share with everyone. Pick a few famous people that can easily share to the world. There is an answer, we just have to find it.

Hi my name is Vickie, I have known Kristi for 20 years plus.

We reach out to you today with heavy hearts but unwavering hope for Kristi Westfall Scannell - a remarkable mother, daughter, sister and friend.

In 2021, at just 47 years old, Kristi faced the daunting diagnosis of stage 3 Triple Negative Breast Cancer.

Despite the shock and fear, she tackled her treatment with determination, undergoing a radical double mastectomy and grueling chemotherapy while raising her 2 boys 15 and 7 with the help of her daughter Jessi, 23. At the same time she went through custody and divorce after 30 yrs. She ran a bakery from home, to raise money while going through treatment.

For 3 years, Kristi lived in remission, embracing every moment with her children. She even moved 4 hrs into the mountains of SWVA and became a Park Ranger at Natural Tunnel State Park. However, in September 2024, her world was once again turned upside down when tests revealed that her cancer had returned, this time in its most aggressive form: stage 4 metastatic breast cancer.

This after several doctors basically told her that she was a hypochondriac and that her pain was due to being overweight. Going so far as leaning against a wall laughing at her pain. She has held onto hope with a smile for all. Most would never know anything is wrong because she puts others first and makes sure they are happy and having a wonderful day.

Hope for a treatment to let her live has led her to her first opportunity in Oklahoma City, OK. This offers a ray of hope with its innovative approach to cancer treatment, utilizing advanced precision genomics and immunology to tailor therapies to each patient's unique needs. Inspired by success stories like Danielle McKean's, who emerged victorious from her own battle with late-stage breast cancer,

Kristi sees this as her best chance for survival. But this treatment comes at a steep cost since of course insurance will not cover it. Then of course air fare, rental car, food and lodging for her and her 11 yr old autistic son. Her 2 older children will stay home to care for the home. They will need help to stay up on the mortgage and utilities while she is out of work.

Please join us in rallying around Kristi, a dear friend, and inspiration to so many of us. And most importantly, a Super Mom who’s everything is her children Jessica (27), Katana (25), Gabe (19), and Kade (11).
