Rally for Krista Callahan's Recovery
Donation protected
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Last Thursday the Callahan family received some big news and they need our prayers!
Krista, wife, and mother to 2 beautiful boys, was told by her doctors she has a large ovarian tumor. She is currently awaiting further diagnosis but it is going to be a long road of treatment, care and recovery.
Anyone who knows Krista knows she has a heart of gold. Works hard to provide for her family and that she lives for her 2 boys. This family is such a blessing to know, not only on a personal level, but also how they contribute to their community as well.
Now it’s the community’s turn to raise this family up and give them our support. In any capacity that you can contribute to aiding this family please do! Whether it is just praying for them or by donating to lessen the financial burden of this time, anything you can do to help will go a long way!
I will post updates on her diagnosis and progress. For now please share this with friends and family and send the Callahans your love and support! Thank you again. ❤️
3/21 ~ Krista saw the doctor today, she will be going into surgery at Moffitt Cancer Center in April to have the tumor removed. Unfortunately until she’s in surgery they won’t be able to really tell what they are dealing with my with and what organs are affected. Thank goodness for the Moffitt doctors! Let’s pray for the best case scenario and continue to shower this family love and support❣️
3/28 ~ Krista’s surgery has been scheduled for 4/28. She’ll be in the hospital for a week, then 2 weeks bed rest and 4 weeks no driving. Please donate what you can even if it seems small. Every little bit helps. There will be a food train for 4/28-5/13. If interested in picking a night to participate please go to the link https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/gv6nn3 Thank you & keep the prayers coming❣️
4/22 ~ Krista’s surgery is only 6 days away and can’t come fast enough as the tumor is continuing to grow in size and discomfort. The day to day is very difficult at this point. Once in surgery the doctors will discover the extent of the tumor’s impact. Please continue to keep the prayers coming, donate what you can, and share. Every little bit helps. There are several meal train dates open as well for anyone local who would like to help out below is the sign up link. ps://www.mealtrain.com/trains/gv6nn3
Thank you for the continued love and support for this family!
4/29 ~ Post surgery update! Krista is so tough!!! It has been a rough several days especially since her pain management wasn’t properly administered. I’m so amazed by her grit going through this procedure and then only being given Tylenol post the initial operative drugs wearing off. I can’t imagine she is so tough!!! Thankfully now it’s being managed properly. Once the doctors began the operation and had better perception of the extent of the tumor than they ultimately had to give her a total radical hysterectomy. Given the nature of the procedure and a significant loss of blood her recovery time has been extended to 6 to 8 weeks. So yeah it has been a rough several days. Still though we can celebrate her making it out the other side. Yay!!! She’s not fully out of the woods but at least the worst is hopefully over. Krista is so thankful for all the thoughts, prayers, donations and abundance of love! Let’s keep it coming through this recovery and if able please signup for the meal train https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/gv6nn3. Now praying for a speedy recovery and a good doctor follow-up.
