If you have ever met my mom Kris, you know she’s the kind of person who does everything for everyone else at the drop of anything. She’s the one that makes sure everyone else is taken care of before herself. She’s the one who shows up, who listens, who no matter what she may be going through still thinks of everyone else. Now is the time we ask for everyone else to be there for her.

My mom (Kris) was diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma, stage 2, cervical cancer. It is rare and aggressive. She will undergo Radiation and Chemotherapy for 5-8 weeks as of right now. She recently went through a full hysterectomy 3 years ago in Iowa City and it is now back and more aggressive. This recent diagnosis has changed a lot, a surgery can’t simply, “fix.” As she has begun a fight for her life and health, the emotional and physical tolls and financial burdens that come with it as well.

Kris gives everything to myself, my younger brother Quentin (8) as well as her husband Casey, son-in-law and her grandson Camden. Her passion for her career in Human Resources, her dedication, her empathy and kindness to others never goes unnoticed by those around her. We are so lucky to have her.

I have set a goal of $5,000 to begin helping my family cover:

-Meals

-Someone to come and help deep clean her home throughout the next few months.

-Things for Quentin (her 8 year old son) to do so he is not cooped up inside as my mom won’t be able to take him places/play, etc.

-& Finally any unexpected medical support needs she may have along the way.
