Hi, friends and family! As many of you know, my mom, Kelly Hamilton, has been a fighter her whole life—but she has gotten to the point where she needs help. She has struggled with her health since she was a teenager after being diagnosed with Stage 3B Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at 17 years old. With what was a grim diagnosis at that time, her doctors didn’t expect her to survive past the age of 19. She decided to sign up to be a part of a study for a new treatment and thanks to that and her unwavering positive spirit that we all know and love, she was able to survive and live a fulfilling life (Thank God!).

Unfortunately, there have been some lasting effects from the experimental treatment that saved her life, including having to take many medications daily, near-constant fatigue and having a heart valve replacement four years ago.

Recently, my mom was admitted to the hospital with a severe case of pneumonia and internal bleeding. The doctors struggled to find the right treatment for her pneumonia and locating the cause of the bleed has taken almost two weeks. Thankfully, she is on the mend, but sadly, her already expensive medical bills have now tripled in cost creating yet another major burden for her and my dad to overcome.

My mom has always been my inspiration and my hero – from her wonderful relationship with my dad, to how she raised us children, to how she loves and adores her grandchildren, to her inspiring relationships with all of her animals she has, especially her horses. She shines light and shares love with everyone she comes across.
