## Help Us Support Kayson During His Medical Emergency ❤️

Hi everyone,
Our family is going through something no parent ever expects, and we are reaching out for help—something that is never easy to do.

Our 11-year-old son, Kayson, has been very sick this past week with an illness that came completely out of nowhere. Just last Thursday (July 3rd), he was happy, active, and looking forward to the 4th of July—excited to light fireworks and go to a barbecue with friends like any other kid his age. But everything changed in an instant.

Right before walking out the door, Kayson suddenly got sick and started vomiting. At first, we thought it was just a stomach bug going around. We gave him over-the-counter medicine and hoped it would pass in a day or two. But as the days went on, he kept getting worse—he couldn’t keep anything down, not even water. He had a sore throat, fever, dizziness, dehydration, and extreme fatigue.

We took him to see a doctor who tested him for strep and COVID—both negative. Even though he was so sick, Kayson was incredibly brave—he chose to take a shot instead of a dissolvable pill because he wanted to feel better faster. That courage is just who he is.

Unfortunately, his condition kept deteriorating. We went to another clinic where he was given an IV and more tests were done, but still no clear answers however a sense of urgency was clear something was wrong and something needed to be done. So from the urgent care he had to be taken by ambulance to Pediatric ICU. There, after more testing and bloodwork, his fever broke and for the first time in a week, he was able to talk again. We were so hopeful.

But the next day, everything changed again. The doctors discovered that the illness had caused serious complications:

* He now has a blood clot in his leg
* His heart rate is unstable
* He has an intravenous IV behind his heart

And still no real answer.

Because of how serious this has become, Kayson is being airlifted to Children's Mercy hospital in Kansas City, MO to see specialists who can hopefully get him stable and on the path to recovery. They told us he will be there for at least another week—possibly longer.

How You Can Help our family?

As you can imagine, this has been not only emotionally devastating but also financially overwhelming. We’ve already missed several days of work to stay by his side, and with the mounting medical bills, travel costs, and everyday life not stopping, we are falling behind fast.

We’re humbly asking for any help you can give. Whether it’s $1, $5, $10, or just sharing this page. Every little bit helps more than you can imagine. Most importantly, please keep Kayson in your thoughts and prayers as he fights to get better.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
Danny, Jessie, Kayson, Micah and Link.
