If you know Kat Brouse at all, you know she’s one of the hardest working, biggest-hearted, most generous, and kindest people you could ever find. She and her husband, Duane, juggle several jobs between the two of them to try to make ends meet for their two young sons and Kat’s mom, who also lives with them.
Recently, in conjunction with increasing prices for food, utilities, and services, Kat’s mother has experienced increasingly severe health challenges that are creating an even heavier burden on Kat and Duane. This combination of circumstances has led them to the unfortunate situation of being several months late on their mortgage payment.
They are in danger of losing the house if they can’t make at least one month’s payment to get them out of foreclosure status. (However, the closer they can get to breaking even, the farther away they’ll be from this danger, just saying!)
Let’s show Kat the same sort of love, care, and generosity she invariably shows everyone else in her life. Let’s show her that her community will rally to help her out of what seems like an impossible situation. Let’s help her make that one payment to pull them out of foreclosure—but we can do better: let’s help them out of that hole entirely.
Times are hard for us all right now. But if we all help share one another’s burdens, we are all stronger and better off for it. Please consider giving any amount to help Kat and Duane back on the road toward some financial breathing room.
Thank you for showing Kat the same sort of non-judgmental, open-hearted generosity she exemplifies.
