Hi, my name is Lisa O'Dell and I am raising funds for a close personal friend and one of the hardest working and generous people I know. Chef Karimah White is an extraordinarily talented and dedicated entrepreneur and mother. She and her sixteen-year-old son relocated to Chicago from Tennessee as part of a multi-year, private chef contract. Now, this single mother is trying to survive and keep her child in a great school system where he is excelling as a student.

The contract was with a professional athlete in Chicago, and it was terminated by him without cause and without notice. Although he signed electronically with his personal email address, he is claiming he never signed the contract, and he is refusing to pay. Due to the nature of the services offered, she was required to sign a lease in a fairly expensive part of the city and incurred numerous expenses, many of which have not been reimbursed. Although she is currently working two steady jobs and utilizing any and all available catering opportunities, it is not enough to make ends meet. The silver lining is the school system for her son. He struggled with school in the past, but he is doing so well in this new Chicago public school, Karimah is doing everything she can to keep him enrolled.

We are asking for assistance with basic necessities such as food, shelter, and insurance. She has scaled back in every conceivable way, but we just need a little help so that she can rebuild and see her son graduate from high school with a bright future.
