I am reaching out to you during one of the most challenging times in our lives. Our beloved son, Juan Carlos or how his coworkers would call him “Splash” was diagnosed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (APL) on Tuesday. As you can imagine, this news has left us in shock, and we are determined to fight this battle with all our strength and declaring that God all mighty is by his side and in control.

Juan Carlos has a twin brother, sister, two wonderful kids ages 11 and 5. As well as his grandmothers, uncles, aunts, brother/ sister in law, girlfriend and his work family for support.

Juan Carlos is always the one to liven up the party. His smile fills the room with joy and the love he gives has no limits. He is carrying and has a big heart. His children mean the world to him. He loves his family and friends.

**The Diagnosis:**

APL is a rare type of leukemia that requires immediate treatment. His medical team has created a comprehensive plan that includes chemotherapy, hospital stays, medications and more. While we are hopeful that this treatment will be effective, it comes with significant financial burdens.
