Rally for Joy and JJ in Their Time of Need
Donation protected
I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Joy and JJ Redington.
Around the fifth of February, Joy and JJ contracted the flu, and while JJ has recovered, Joy has several complex health conditions that have complicated her body's ability to fight the flu. She's been fighting hard ever since being admitted, but as of this morning, 2/15/2025, they needed to be intubated and are currently waiting for a bed at UVM Medical Center so that Joycan provide the next level of appropriate care for Joy. They will be transferred there as soon as possible.
Joy and JJ have both applied for FMLA, but both of their paid time off avenues have been exhausted. Personally, I work with Joy and have never met JJ, but I've gotten to know him through this process. They are both some of the kindest people in this world and would do anything for everybody. Even when corresponding with JJ, he has checked in with me multiple times just to make sure I'm okay and to thank me for being a messenger for the rest of the team where Joy and I work. They would not ask for help unless they really needed it! They're the kind of people that can have $0.50 to their name, but if someone needed it more than they did, they would give it to them without hesitation.
JJ has reiterated with every update that Joy is going to beat this, and they are fighting very, very hard. Joy and JJ are both overwhelmingly positive and beautiful people! If you can do anything, whether it's five dollars, $50, or $500… I have been in a similar situation myself, and I know how much every little bit can help in a situation like this… If you are able to donate, please share on social media, email this to people, etc. I will do what I can to post updates from JJ directly whenever I hear anything and answer any messages and send out thank yous for donations so they don't have to do anything.
I know that Joy believes in the power of positivity, and I believe that JJ does as well just from my interactions with them. I believe that they are going to beat this, and I believe that they will. I honestly do. Joy is one of my best friends and biggest confidantes at work… I know they are going to fight with everything they have and then some… I guarantee you Joy is thinking about meetings and work stuff and their animals and JJ and Steve and is severely annoyed with the best facial expressions you've ever seen that they are stuck in this bed. I believe that my sarcastic partner at work is going to beat this. It's going to be a long road that may last weeks or months, but they will beat this. In their mind, I know they are, I know this is their mindset, and I know they will completely throttle it to the best of their ability. I also know firsthand that they are going to receive the best care from UVM Medical Center, and Central Vermont Medical Center has already done amazing things, but they need us to rally around them and their family. Please help if you can.
With Love, Positivity, and Hope!
