Jovel suffered a massive stroke, the result of an AVM (arteriovenous malformation) genetic brain condition. Jovel has shown immense strength through two grueling surgeries, one of which lasted over 14 hours. As it stands, he remains in a coma, with no movement on the right side of his body. This situation is devastating, and the road to recovery will be long, challenging, and costly.

Jovel was the sole breadwinner of our family, and our financial situation was already strained as we were coping with the challenges of my daughter Daisi, who has kidney failure and brain seizures. Daisi is in urgent need of a kidney transplant, and her medical journey is filled with both physical and emotional struggles. In addition to Daisi, I am caring for our three young boys, all under age 10.
