Rally for John's Post -Amputation Journey!

Hello,

We are family of John Matthew Petrovich, reaching out for assistance for our beloved nephew, step-son, cousin! John is needing extensive help with rent, utilities, medical bills and a prothesis after a serious medical situation.

John is only 35 years old but is suffering from a yet unknown, probably genetic, blood disorder that created serious blood clotting in his body. It first effected his, toes, then foot, then lower left leg. He spent 1 week at River Bend Hospital in Eugene, had extensive testing, then surgery to initially remove blood clots. But within hours his leg was again clotting and vascular surgeons made the decision to airlift him to Harborview Medical Hospital in Seattle. Renowned surgeons in Seattle removed extensive clotting in his left leg, but again it reclotted within a few hours. After scans and ultrasounds and many many lab tests the staff remained puzzled and had no answers for his condition. He was put on a bus (yes, you read that correctly) with excruciating pain and returned home to Springfield! Within days he was transferred back to River Bend and because of the clotting and severe pain the decision was made to amputate his leg directly above his knee.

John remains at River Bend Hospital in Springfield, Oregon. We are hoping he is transferred to a Medical Rehab Facility soon, and then eventually home.

This is going to be a very long recovery and journey for John! He is trained in construction work and really loves it, hoping to one day return in some capacity to construction work. John has a big heart and is determined to do the hard work necessary for his recovery! He has applied for rental and utility assistance, but the lag time for that can be months. He has applied for Social Security Disability but that can be a considerable wait time! We are reaching out to family and friends for help. We sincerely appreciate any of your contributions!
