In January 2025, Joe began the toughest fight of his life following a rare aggressive cancer diagnosis in his hip that later spread to his lungs. Since then, it has been a relentless medical battle. Joe has met the grueling physical toll of radiation, surgery, rehabilitation, and holistic treatments with a steady, quiet determination, refusing to let the weight of the treatment break his spirit. While relearning to walk after major surgery, he suffered another setback, contracting the shingles virus which spread to his eye, causing blindness. A compassionate doctor performed a stem cell implant procedure and thankfully saved his eyesight.

This has been anything but a passive recovery. The journey has been a long, uphill climb that has tested his physical limits at every turn. His faith has only grown stronger.

This fight has required a true team effort at home. His wife, Melissa, has been the backbone of the operation, managing the household and keeping life moving for their three young kids while still working to provide income while Joe focuses on his recovery. The strain on the family is real and the road has been heavy, but they are meeting the struggle with resilience and determination.
