Support Jessica Jensen's Healing
Donation protected
A little over a week ago, Jess was at work and had what everyone thought was heat stroke until she had a seizure and passed out. Turns out what she had was a brain aneurysm rupture. At 33 years old, no one could have seen this coming. She was life-flighted from Ogden to St. Mark's Hospital in Millcreek, where she underwent surgery to place a stent in her brain to alleviate the pressure. Since the initial surgery, she has undergone 3 more procedures where the surgeons go in through her femoral artery to her brain and put medicine in the aneurysm to stop the bleeding and check for spasms. The procedure on July 5th finally stopped the bleeding. However, her brain is still spasming. When that happens, it increases the risk of stroke among other problems. The surgeons will continue to monitor the spasms by repeating this procedure every other day for 14 days.
Jess is in immense pain and every time the procedure is done, it's like starting back at day one. The headaches, nausea, confusion, and fear of losing her life start all over. To see my best friend and sister hurting this much and not being able to help breaks my heart, and everyone else involved feels the same.
Jess has a long road ahead and is still not out of the woods. We don't know the extent her brain has been damaged yet. She will spend a minimum of 21 days in the ICU and will have to then go to rehab to get her as strong as possible before she can go home. Even then, she can't be alone and will need medical personnel to assist her in daily life for a time.
Meanwhile, she obviously cannot work. Rent is still due, utilities still need to be paid, and bills don't stop because she is in the hospital. She is worried because she has no health insurance as well. We are asking for donations so that when she finally gets to go home, she will have little to worry about besides getting healthy again.
Anything helps, and if you can't help monetarily, please share this so she can focus on getting healthy for her little man. Thanks, everyone!
