Let’s Rally Around Jeff and the Gallichio Family

On behalf of my lifelong friend and comadre, I’m reaching out to ask our wonderful community to come together and support one of our own during an incredibly challenging time.

Many of you know Yolanda and Jeff Gallichio — not just as familiar faces at the fields and courts, but as coaches, mentors, and friends who have given so much to our kids and our community. Over the years, they’ve been there, cheering from the sidelines, guiding young athletes, and building bonds that go far beyond sports.

Right now, they need our support.

About a month ago, Jeff was admitted to the hospital in Modesto, hoping to find relief from leg pain. Sadly, instead of improving, his condition has worsened. Jeff is now facing the life-changing reality of losing his foot. As you can imagine, this has been devastating for the family, and they are working hard to adjust to their new normal. We kindly ask that everyone respect their privacy as they navigate through this difficult transition.

Yolanda makes the daily trip to be by Jeff’s side, and their three children visit every chance they get. The emotional and financial toll is growing, and even the simple cost of gas is becoming a real burden.

We often say that coaches don’t do it for the pay, but for the love of the game and the kids. Jeff and Yolanda have lived that truth every step of the way. Now, it’s our turn to show them that same love and appreciation in return.
