Rally for Jayse's Recovery
Donation protected
On Jan 9th, Jayse Noel Rademacher was admitted to the Children's ICU with a very bad case of Mycoplasma pneumonia and sepsis/septic shock, and has required high oxygen needs on a ventilator for 12 days. They are still in the ICU as of Jan 28th with several weeks estimated remaining for recovery.
It was found they have a rare genetic immune condition called “hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis” (HLH) that has been one of the main difficulties in recovery. This video helps explain more about what is occurring in their immune system:
It's scary. What happened is during the mycoplasma pneumonia, Jayse's immune system over-reacted and caused collateral damage on most of Jayse's organs (lungs, liver, kidneys, gallbladder, stomach, intestine, skin, bladder).
We have and will continue to appreciate the well wishes, check ins, donations, various gift cards, good thoughts, vigils, and prayers and everything else in the meantime as Jayse enters a difficult and unknown future.
