With love, strength, and hope — Jasmine’s Story

Hello, my name is Jasmine Parker.

I am a proud mother of two wonderful sons and a joyful grandmother to eight amazing grandchildren.

For over 30 years, I have dedicated my life to helping others, guiding clients through billing issues, coordinating HR needs, assisting social workers in the Guardianship Program, supporting physicians, and preparing their insurances to go before the Credentialing Committee, and being a listening ear to anyone in need. Empathy and compassion have always been my compass.

Now, I find myself in the position of needing that same empathy and compassion from others.

Several years ago, my life changed forever. My husband was an over the road truck driver which took him to many cities and states. I would travel with him when I could, but on this day, he was traveling alone. While driving home from work he called me, and we laughed and talked about my birthday which was on that day. We made plans for when he came home that weekend and it was going to be great. The phone went dead on his end, and I could not reach him. I drove home, and later that evening the State Troopers delivered the message that he had passed away in his truck. He was traveling on the interstate when it happened but thank God the truck did not hit anyone or flip, it slowed down, traveled through a barbed wire fence, and came to rest in a hayfield. It was later determined that he had a cardiac arrest. I suddenly realized that I had lost him, although in denial. It was my birthday, and we were going to have such a sweet time together when he came home that weekend. The heartbreak was unimaginable.

Not long after, I underwent bilateral knee replacement surgery—and now I face my greatest challenge yet: fighting kidney disease.

I have previously undergone three surgeries to prepare for in-center hemodialysis, a life-sustaining treatment I must undergo three times a week while waiting for a kidney transplant.

This journey is exhausting—physically, emotionally, and financially. The costs of ongoing care, transportation to treatments, lab work, essential medications, and Anticoagulants are overwhelming. My goal is to raise $10,000 to help cover these critical expenses and give me a stronger chance at a healthier future.

What keeps me going is love.

My love for my family runs deep and I pray to have the ability to continue to love and help care for my incredible 95-year-old mother, the Matriarch of our family, who still blesses us daily with her strength and wisdom.

I would love to watch my grandchildren grow up, to cheer at their graduations, as they go off to college, and start their journey into their careers, marry and start families of their own. I want to see my sons grow older with greying hair, proud, and strong, knowing their mother was there for every chapter. I want more time with the people I love most.

I believe in the power of prayer, love, and community. Your support is not just a donation, it is a gift of time, a breath of hope, and a blessing for me to continue writing my story alongside the family that means everything to me.

I am scheduled for another surgery to repair the fistula in my right arm on August 20, 2025.
