Rally for Jamie: Urgent Cancer Treatment Needed
Donation protected
Hello to my wonderful community,
I come to you with a heavy heart and an urgent request to support our dear friend Jamie Walls, who has recently received some devastating news. Many of you know Jamie as well as her children Brian, Freddy, Dominic and Mia. Jamie was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer that has spread and metastasized in her liver with multiple additional growths. She needs immediate and aggressive medical interventions, including medications, chemotherapy and surgery. As you can imagine, the costs associated with such an aggressive disease, ongoing medical care and time off work are substantial and far beyond what a single mom can bear alone.
We, as a closely connected community, have the opportunity to make a profound difference for Jamie and her children by rallying together and offering our support as Jamie fights for her life.
We humbly ask for your help in raising funds to cover Jamie’s medical expenses and to ensure that she can pay her bills during this challenging time. Any amount, big or small, will make a difference and allow Jamie to focus on what truly matters—fighting this battle and being there for her children.
Your financial support can help cover the following urgent needs:
Medical Expenses: Jamie is currently facing intensive medical treatment, including surgeries, medications, and specialized care. Your donations will help ease the financial burden on Jamie, allowing her to focus solely on her care and spending quality time with her family.
Everyday Bills – You Know the Ones: Jamie, like the rest of us, has all of the typical expenses that a family can expect. Mortgage, utilities, groceries, school supplies, etc. A small donation might literally help keep the lights on.
Family Support: This illness has already taken an emotional toll on the family as they grapple with fear, uncertainty, and the immense stress for the unknown of what lies ahead. Please help to show them that they are not alone in this journey and that their community stands by their side. Every penny will make a difference.
Please keep Jamie and her children in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate this difficult journey. Your kindness, support, prayers and generosity will mean the world to them.
Please share this fundraising appeal with your friends, family, and colleagues. Spreading the word can help us reach a wider audience and increase the chances of reaching the fundraising goal.
Thank you for being a part of Jamie’s community and for helping to lift her up during this time of need.
An extra little note from me with a little more about Jamie,
I truly cannot express how devastating it is to find out that Jamie, OUR JAMIE, has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. If you’ve had the good fortune of knowing Jamie, then you already understand. You’ve undoubtedly seen her go above and beyond to make others feel loved and appreciated. Nothing has ever stood in her way when she sets her mind to helping someone. Too sick to cook for yourself? Jamie doesn’t just make you one meal, she makes you a week’s worth of homemade, healthy, prepackaged deliciousness. Birthday? She doesn’t just get you a card, she comes in early to wrap your workstation in a mountain of wrapping paper, tissue paper, confetti, balloons, silly garb, and a card signed by everyone you know. (Occasionally she does this even when it isn’t your birthday.) Raising money for something? Jamie will donate, whether she can afford it or not. Need a ride to work, she will pick you up. It doesn’t matter if you live on the other side of town. Someone called out sick at work? Jamie will stay late to cover the shift, only to work the opening shift the very next morning. Need a volunteer for something? Jamie will raise her hand. She will stay up all night crocheting items to sell so she can support her kids’ ventures. She will coordinate morning hikes up Table Rock so you can watch the sun rise over our beautiful valley. She will make you feel comfortable just by being her natural, funny, stubborn, honest, lovely self. Jamie is someone who was devastated, not because she just received a life threatening cancer diagnosis, but because she might not be able to make it to her son’s Marine Corp graduation. Jamie is the best kind of person—someone whose laughter is contagious, who always speaks her mind, and whose heart is full of endless love and kindness. She has worked tirelessly her entire life, never accepting a handout without paying it back or paying it forward. On my own, I could never accomplish for Jamie what she has done for so many others. I know that so many of you feel the same way, but together, we could make a profound difference. If anyone is worth it, Jamie most certainly is.
