Help Ian Fight Kidney Failure & Transplant Needs — Household Bills & Life-Saving Care
WHY WE ARE HERE RIGHT NOW
Hi — thank you for taking a moment to read this. Our dear friend Ian McCelestine has been facing one of the toughest battles of his life. Due to genetic polycystic kidney disease (PKD) he has developed advanced kidney failure, and is now on regular dialysis while urgently waiting for a kidney transplant.
This journey has not only been physically and emotionally draining — it has also brought significant financial stress. Between medical bills, insurance costs, household expenses, and life-sustaining treatments, the burden has become overwhelming.
ABOUT IAN
Ian is a kind, generous soul who has always shown up for others. Whether it’s supporting friends, family, or community members, Ian gives selflessly.
From working extensively in retail - wearing many hats as recruiter, trainer, mentor, educator, visual merchandiser, leader, sales coach, and more - to jewelry design, Ian loves meeting people and interacting with them on a daily basis. In fact, creating new relationships has always been one of his most personal enjoyments in life.
He campaigned for city council in Salem due to his continued desires to be an active and productive member of the community - again, focusing on helping others.
To that end, Ian has volunteered at his local church, for Over the Rainbow Social club (assisting in social events and more for LGBT+ seniors and allies/caregivers), and been part of other LGBT and other charitable organizations.
NOW IT'S OUR TURN TO RALLY BEHIND HIM
Currently he is on leave from work and may need to extend it for a long time due to his dialysis and other treatments - several times a week.
HOW YOUR SUPPORT WILL HELP:
Every dollar donated will go directly toward:
Medical expenses — dialysis costs, transplant work-ups, surgeries
Health insurance copays and premiums
Medications and treatments not fully covered
Household essentials — rent/mortgage, utilities, groceries
Transportation to medical appointments
Recovery support for Ian
WHY THIS MATTERS
Dialysis keeps Ian alive, but a transplant will give him life back. Transplants come with long waitlists and enormous costs — both emotional and financial. This fund is here to help bridge that gap so Ian can keep fighting, focus on healing, and not fear losing stability while doing it and waiting for a kidney.
PLEASE SHARE AND ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO GIVE!!!!
We know not everyone can give — and that’s okay — but you can still help by sharing this page with your community. The more eyes we get, the better Ian’s chances of reaching his goal.
THANK YOU FOR ANY AMOUNT YOU CAN DONATE
From Ian, his family, and everyone who loves him — thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support. Your compassion makes a world of difference. xoxoxo
