Rally for Hunter Smith
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
Hunter Smith, a friend and part of the tennis team at IUP, has been diagnosed with a brain tumor. As shocking as the news is, Hunter is doing everything possible to get back on the mend. He will be going into surgery on Tuesday (September 24th) under the supervision of some of the best doctors in the world at UPMC Shadyside.
As you can imagine, this type of health care is not cheap, but it does give Hunter the best chance of recovery. To help Hunter pay, the IUP tennis team will be running some events/crowd funds:
1. On Friday, 27thth of September, we will be holding “Rally for Hunter.” This will be 24 hours of tennis at the IUP tennis courts. The idea is that at least two people will be playing tennis around the clock. (Coach will be doing the 1-4am shift). If you want to participate, you are more than welcome to just show up, but if you know you can do a certain time frame, let Coach know. You can be any level. Let’s rally for Hunter.
Anyone can turn up at any time. Friday 27th 9am - Saturday 28th 9am
2. The tennis team has made around 50 bracelets to sell. More can be made. These will be available from Coach's office in the KCAC with the use of an honesty box. If you are not in Indiana and would like one, please reach out and I will get it mailed.
Bracelets are a pay what you want model
3. A crowd fund page has been created, so any amount really does help.
Please keep Hunter in your prayers for a full recovery.
