In October of 2024, Jason noticed a lump in his neck that seemed concerning. After it grew quickly to a large size, medical tests and imaging were done to determine what it was. Jason had his first surgery on January 15th of this year and developed complications from the procedure, causing a large hematoma in the surgical area from a leak in his jugular vein. Jason made it through the second emergency surgery, but then found out the next day the pathology report revealed the neck mass was cancer and had spread to the lymph nodes of his neck. Further testing and imaging revealed a large primary tumor in his tonsil. Due to complications from the first surgeries, an intense plan combining chemotherapy and radiation became the only option for treatment of the cancer. Because of the detailed effort needed to protect his airway, speech, and swallowing functions, Jason and Hannah will be moving to Seattle for 3 months for Jason to have the best care at the University of Washington and Fred Hutch.
This will be a heavy toll on the family between all the treatments and the travel home for Hannah to see their children. The last thing we want the family to worry about is money, please join us in contributing to this fund to help the family out, even if it seems small, anything will be greatly appreciated. We also ask you lift this family up in prayer and give them the resilience to keep pushing through when the battle gets harder then what one can handle on their own.
"Halvy" is ready to fight and a strong man, never one to back down! As a former high school State Football Champ for the Conrad Cowboys and a runner-up contestant in the National Football Championship with the MT Tech Orediggers, this next three months will be his Super Bowl. His faith, his family, and his friends will be a strong support during this time. 1 Timothy 6:12 (NIV).
Now let's rally together and kick cancer's ass!!!!
