My name is Angela Schliesser, I have been friends with this particular Rodeo Family from the Red Bluff area for many years, The Kents.

Jocelyn Kent and her husband David have raised several wonderful kids and at this time their teenaged son Giovanni Kent was recently stepped on while riding bulls in a rodeo. Giovanni is an amazing young man, he has a passion for riding bulls and playing his guitar and being one of the most polite teenage boys we all could know.

3 days ago Giovanni was stepped on during the rodeo and broke his back. He has undergone 2 life saving surgeries now to repair the damage done to his back. They have placed 2 rods in his back to stabilize it and will have to wear a back brace for a duration until his back is stabilized

He is UP and walking but has a LONG road ahead of him to get back to being a healthy teenage boy. He is in a lot of pain and as most teenage boys with hopes and dreams and big goals is pretty devastated he is going to have to sit in the sidelines for an undetermined amount of time.

FROM HIS MOM:

""Gio's surgeon was able to address the blood clot during surgery and placed the rods on the spine. The break was dangerously close to causing permanent paralysis. We are feeling so blessed and lucky that he's in good hands. Resting now, but we will keep everyone posted"

They will have follow up doctors appointments, days away from work and many trips to specialist and physical therapy etc. The road to full recovery is long but not impossible and I am sure Gio will put as much effort into healing as he does riding!

In the mean time fuel is expensive, copay insurance isn't free and all the added expenses away from family will take a toll on this amazing family!

Let's show the Kent's some RODEO FAMILY love and help them with one less stress during this time of recovery!
