Rally for Fally: Supporting Her Recovery from a car accident
Donation protected
Imagine receiving a call that your 15-year-old daughter has been in a serious accident.
First, you are told she is OK, but then the X-rays come back, revealing a broken spine and severe internal injuries. As you try to process this devastating news, you find out she is turning yellow. She is rushed into emergency surgery, and once stabilized, she is flown to Children's Hospital in Vancouver for spinal surgery.
The morning she arrives in Vancouver, you wake up to find she is on life support, her feet cold to the touch. Despite your efforts to stay calm, fear, uncertainty, and a heavy weight bear down on your heart. The medical staff manage to stabilize her breathing, but the spinal surgery cannot proceed until they control her infection. Finally, on Sunday, the surgeons are able to perform the spinal surgery. After four agonizing hours of waiting, you receive the joyous news: the surgery was a success, and she moved her feet.
The following day, she defies the odds by standing up and taking two steps before collapsing, overwhelmed with excitement and relief. This small but significant victory brings hope amid the turmoil. Now the months of rehabilitation begin.
Currently, the family, with two other children, is staying at a motel in Vancouver without cooking facilities, forcing them to eat out constantly. They rely on Ubers and sky train for transportation to and from the hospital. The financial strain of living in Vancouver while maintaining their home in Lake Cowichan is immense. Despite these challenges, they continue to forge ahead with courage and hope, even when the odds seem against them.
Their income has been drastically reduced, and their expenses continue to rise. Watching them navigate this difficult journey has been heart-wrenching, but there is one thing we can do: help alleviate their financial burdens.
We have set up a GoFundMe account to assist with the overwhelming costs: accommodations, ferry rides, parking, extra meals, fuel, and more. Your support will not only help cover these expenses but will also lift the family’s spirits, showing them that they are not alone in this fight.
We understand that times are tough for many, and every little bit helps. Even a few dollars can make a significant difference and offer much-needed relief and encouragement to this brave family.
Please donate what you can and share this campaign with others. Your generosity and kindness can bring hope and support to a family in desperate need.
Thank you for your compassion and willingness to give.
