Erin has dedicated her life to caring for others. She has been a nurse for over 20 years. I've had the pleasure of working side-by-side with her for the last five years. Her care and compassion for others are truly inspiring.
Erin recently got an unfortunate diagnosis which has led to her receiving radiation therapy. Erin still comes to work the night shift; when she gets off, she then goes to receive her radiation treatment. She will soon begin chemotherapy treatment.
So many of us have loved ones that have been impacted by cancer or even struggled ourselves. Many medical expenses occur while receiving treatments: travel, lodging, medical bills—everything adds up. When receiving an update from Erin tonight, she informed me that she will begin chemo next month. During general conversation, she mentioned that her doctor informed her she will indeed lose all of her hair. Those of you that have met Erin know that she has the most beautiful hair. An option would be to cut her hair prior to receiving therapy and have a wig made that she will be able to wear. At this time, that wouldn't be an option due to the expense.
However, I asked Erin if I could create a GoFundMe page for her. She was very moved and said it would be appreciated. So, the amount that I'm asking would go towards medical expenses that she's already acquired, and those that are upcoming with her chemo treatment. Also included would be to preserve her hair and have a wig made.
Yes, there are other things that I'm sure she could use this money towards. I feel it would be an honor to help her out not only with her medical bills but to give her something to look forward to and make her feel better about herself. I understand we are close to the holidays and some are unable to give, prayers are also needed and welcomed. Any amount is greatly appreciated. Thank you and God bless.
