On November 22, 2024, our lives were forever changed. My fiancé, Eric, a 10 year lineman, the love of my life and the backbone of our family, was involved in a terrible accident on I-95. His truck collided with a dump truck that was stopped with no lights on. The impact completely totaled his truck and left him with devastating injuries, including:
• A deep laceration across his nose
• A puncture wound in his neck
• A broken collarbone
• Several fractured ribs
• Severe bruising all over his legs
The physical pain is overwhelming, but the emotional toll is even harder to bear. He can’t move his left arm at all right now, and the road to recovery will be long and uncertain. Physical therapy is just the beginning, and he will also need therapy to heal from the emotional trauma of that night.
We are a large family with 7 kids, and he has always been our provider and protector. Now, with him unable to work for at least 6-8 weeks (and possibly longer), we are facing challenges we never imagined. On top of everything, his medical insurance wasn’t active yet due to switching companies as a lineman. The medical bills are mounting, and we’re struggling to keep up with our household expenses, let alone think about replacing his truck or paying for the care he desperately needs.
I’m writing this with a heavy heart, but also with hope. Hope that there are kind and compassionate people out there who might help us through this nightmare. If you’ve ever experienced a moment when life knocked you down and you didn’t know how you’d get back up, you’ll understand where we are right now.
We are asking for help, and your support would mean the world to us. Not just to cover medical bills and therapy, but to give us a chance to keep our family afloat during this difficult time. Whether it’s through donation, or sharing this page, or even words of encouragement helps us move one step closer to healing.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story. Your support, no matter how small, means more than words can express.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Jess, Eric and family
