Help EJ Get the Liver Transplant That Will Save His Life

Hi everyone,

We're reaching out with heavy hearts and hopeful spirits to ask for your support for E.J.—a loving boyfriend, son, brother, and friend—who is currently facing a life-threatening health crisis.

E.J. was just 10 years old when he was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. Not long after, he continued experiencing symptoms that didn’t quite fit the diagnosis. Further testing revealed a rare and serious liver condition called Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC). Doctors told him then that he would eventually need a liver transplant—likely within 11 to 15 years.

Now 25, E.J.’s time has come.

In late 2024, E.J. endured several hospitalizations that confirmed his liver is in critical condition. He’s now officially on the transplant list, and we’re anxiously waiting for the call that a new liver is available.

Once E.J. undergoes surgery, he’ll spend time in the ICU followed by recovery on the transplant floor. Even once he’s home, the healing process will take months. He won’t be able to be alone and will need constant care, which his girlfriend Haley Butler and his father will lovingly provide.

Both E.J. and Haley have had to step away from work—E.J. due to illness, and Haley to be his caregiver. Between the loss of income, mounting medical bills, and ongoing medication costs, the financial burden is overwhelming.
