Help EJ Get the Liver Care That Will Save His Life
Hi everyone,
We're reaching out with heavy hearts and hopeful spirits to ask for your support for E.J.—a loving boyfriend, son, brother, and friend—who is currently facing a life-threatening health crisis.
E.J. was just 10 years old when he was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. Not long after, he continued experiencing symptoms that didn’t quite fit the diagnosis. Further testing revealed a rare and serious liver condition called Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC). Doctors told him then that he would eventually need a liver transplant—likely within 11 to 15 years.
Now 25, E.J.’s time has come.
In late 2024, E.J. endured several hospitalizations that confirmed his liver is in critical condition. He was officially placed on the transplant list, and thanks to the incredible generosity of a donor, he recently underwent a liver transplant.
While we are deeply grateful for the initial transplant, E.J. has experienced unexpected complications and due to rejection he will need a second live transplant. He had to undergo an additional procedure to place a stent, and he is currently still in the hospital under close medical supervision awaiting an additional shunt procedure after high fever from infections that he was susceptible to by anti-rejection medication.
Due to the complications of the first transplant, there has been excessive stress on his kidneys so he requires a kidney transplant as well. He maintains on going dialysis treatment in the meantime.
Both E.J. and his girlfriend, Haley, have had to take months away from work—E.J. due to illness, and Haley to be his full-time caregiver. Between the extended hospital stay, additional procedures, loss of income, mounting medical bills, and long-term medication needs, the financial burden has grown heavier.
We’re humbly asking for your continued help. Every dollar makes a difference—whether it’s $5, $50, $1000, or simply sharing this campaign. If you’re not able to give, we truly welcome your prayers and well-wishes.
E.J. has fought so hard for so long, and while this chapter has been incredibly difficult, we remain hopeful. Your support means everything to him and our family as we navigate the road to recovery together!
With love and gratitude,
E.J.’s family and friends
