Doug Allen is a familiar and beloved face in our community — many of us know him from seeing him ride around the neighborhood on his motor scooter, with the American flag fluing high and proud, despite living his life without the use of his legs or hips.
On Wednesday, July 15, Doug was struck by a truck and suffered a broken neck, back, and pelvis and he has been in the ICU fighting to recover. He relies primarily on Social Security disability income.
To make matters more difficult, the circumstances surrounding the accident have created additional financial burdens beyond medical care.
As Doug faces a long and uncertain recovery, this family needs help covering medical bills and other pressing expenses tied to this situation.
Our community has always looked out for one another, and the heart of Pineville resident's is the reason Doug and his daughter chose to live here and now more than ever, Doug and his daughter need us. Any contribution, big or small, will go directly toward helping them get through this crisis and rebuild some stability.
Thank you for your kindness and support.
