Rally for David – Our Mellow Mushroom Teammate

Yesterday, one of our own—David, a longtime cook at Mellow Mushroom Sandy Springs—suffered a heart attack. As he begins the long road to recovery, we’re rallying together to offer support during this difficult time.

David has been with our Mellow Mushroom family for over a decade. If you've ever enjoyed one of our pizzas, chances are David had a hand in it. He’s the kind of guy who shows up early, works hard, and brings a quiet strength and steady presence to the kitchen every single day. Over the years, he’s become more than just a coworker—he’s become a cornerstone of our team and a friend to many of us.

Outside of the restaurant, David is someone who values simplicity and peace. He enjoys being outdoors, working with his hands, and spending quality time with his young son. He’s a proud father who lights up when talking about his boy, and it’s clear that his greatest joy comes from being there for him.

As you can imagine, a medical emergency like this is a heavy burden—physically, emotionally, and financially. David is facing a long recovery ahead, and while he’s focusing on healing, he’ll be away from work and unable to provide for his son in the way he normally does.

We’re setting up this GoFundMe to help ease some of the financial pressure—whether it’s medical expenses, bills, or basic living costs while he recovers. Our goal is to raise enough to give David the peace of mind to focus on getting healthy and to support his son during this uncertain time.

David is not one to ask for help. But right now, we’re asking on his behalf.
