Rally for Dar: Stroke Recovery
Donation protected
Mid-June, Dar had a stroke causing some speech problems and right sided weakness. He was taken to Sioux Falls via ambulance and stents were put in his left carotid artery as it was 91% blocked. The left had to be done first as this was the side his stroke occurred. They planned to put stents in his right carotid artery 4-6 weeks after putting them in his left, as the right is 95% blocked. He was on his way to recovering in the rehab unit when he had a substantial set back on June 28th. He was taken from the rehab unit to the ER as they suspected another stroke. It turned out to be a medication complication as well as an infection. He's having a hard time coming back from this and now does not meet criteria to go back to the rehab unit. He is currently in the hospital trying to get well enough to rehab. He has a very long road ahead of him and has a complete loss of income due to the stroke. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated by his loved ones so that he doesn’t have to worry about financials. Dar has always been one to go well out of his way to help anyone in need. Let’s pull together and show him the same support he shows everyone else. Even if you can’t donate, please share so we can get the word out to support Dar!
