Many of you know Harold Allen simply as "Coach".
As a former professional baseball player, Coach Allen fell in love with the game. Once he was finished with his career, he brought his talents to teaching young boys how to develop their own talents. He is one of those selfless persons who are always helping and bringing up those around him. He spends hours of his time teaching, coaching, raising up those in his community.
I was fortunate to find Coach for my own son's baseball team, and have been amazed at how much of a blessing he is. He has a God-given gift in coaching kids on and off the field. Truly, he is passionate and cares about developing kids and often becomes like family.
I've asked his permission to share a current hardship Coach is facing. Several years ago, Coach had a stent put in his descending aorta. On Thursday, August 29 after coaching a baseball game, Coach went home and started experiencing symptoms. The next day at school where he coaches, he knew something wasn't right - and even tried to drive himself to the ER. Thankfully another teacher stepped in and drove him. There during a CT scan a cardiothoracic issue was identified and he was rushed to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, TX, where they specialize in these issues. He is currently scheduled for surgery around Tuesday, September 3, 2024. They will need to put another stent in a different part this time. After, he will have to stay in the hospital to recover.
Meanwhile, he is unable to work, unable to give his private lessons to supplement his income, and accumulating medical bills.
While he is optimistic that "God still has more in store for me", I asked his permission to set up this page on his behalf, knowing that he needs help he would never ask for himself.
I'm sharing this story hoping that the community he has dedicated so much of his time, love, and energy to could come together to help in his time of need. All donations will go to Coach to help him pay his medical bills and supplement the income he is missing out to take care of himself during this tough time.
If you can't donate - share to spread the word, and let's hope that we can show Coach how much of a blessing he truly is to all of us.
