Christine's Rally to Pay her Mortgage & Advance Her Career!

Hello my name is Christine, I'm an preschool teachers assistant at a local school in Vancouver, WA, as well as a loving single mother of two beautiful young children who I adore. I pour my heart and soul into my work, and am a dedicated mother, raising my children to be loving, caring members of society. Through guidance from others I have been guided to show up vulnerable and open and ask for assistance for myself and my little family.

Through recent financial set backs, I broke down and realized I needed a roommate to supplement my income. This was difficult decision to make, but it was imperative that I keep my home, and not move away from the neighbors my children adore and from the school district that my children know and love. I see all the stability it provides to them.

I was able to find a roommate who seemed reliable, easy to get along with, and was safe for me kids. My roommate was always on time with rent. Recently however, something has drastically shifted and my roommate hasn't paid me.I'm a kind hearted, caring, giving person and gave them the benefit of the doubt, many promises, and excuses later it has been 2 months and I am in jeopardy of not being able to pay mortgage that myself and my two young children depend on. I have to now face the hardships of not only evicting my roommate, but trying to find some way to pay for my mortgage as my resources are dwindling before my eyes.

Last year I almost lost my house but I worked hard and was able to get my loan modified. Then in the spring I learned that I had thyroid cancer. Over the summer I had to go into surgery to remove my thyroid and 42 lymph nodes that had been infected with cancer. Then in November I went through a major radiation treatment to clear up what the surgery could not get. Both of these events cause me to take time off of work and wipe out my savings. My fight with cancer is not over yet but I am hoping to get a clear sign in the fall that I am 100% cured! I have worked so hard to be a contributing member to my community, to provide the very best for my small family, to show strength, grace, and courage, even when times are hard.

To make matters worse, I have been planning on taking a trip to northern California next week to complete a training I've been working on for 2 years. When I complete this training it will help me expand and enhance the work I do with children. Working with these amazing little people is my absolute passion. Not having my now ex-roommates portion of rent will make it impossible to take the week off to complete my training and will only postpone my career.

I fully believe in the kindness of others. I believe in miracles and the strength of the human spirit.I am resourceful and will take any and all donations and make them go a long way.Any amount even $1, $10, $20, $100, $200, any amount that you are able to invest will help in greatly reversing the financial burdens that I have been left with.

Please also remember to share this campaign with others as well. Every small and large act of kindness goes a long way and is deeply appreciated.

From the bottom of my heart to yours, truly, thank you for reading this far.
