Support Chris Saunders After Tragic Car Accident (Secret Effort)
Dear friends and theatre community,
We are reaching out today as our dear friend, colleague, and all-around incredible human, Chris Saunders, has faced an unimaginable setback. Late on New Year's Eve, both of Chris’s cars were destroyed in a tragic accident caused by a late-night irresponsible driver, while his vehicles were parked outside his apartment. This devastating loss has left Chris without reliable transportation at a time when he needs it most.
Chris has been a constant presence in all of our lives—a loving and generous friend, a dedicated family member, and a tireless advocate for the theatre community. He gives so much of himself to others, whether it’s helping bring powerful theatre to life or offering his boundless kindness to anyone in need. He’s always there to lend a hand or a listening ear, and now, it’s our turn to support him.
We want to emphasize that this is a secret effort to raise money for Chris. He is an incredibly prideful and strong-willed person, and we know he would never want to feel like a "charity case." That’s why we’re asking for your help behind the scenes—so that Chris never has to know the full extent of our efforts to support him. But as his community, we can’t stand by while he faces this challenge alone.
Chris needs reliable transportation to continue living his life, fulfilling his many obligations, and, of course, continuing to create and inspire impactful theatre for all of us. We’ve set a goal of $15,000 to help Chris replace his cars and get back on his feet, but truly, any amount—big or small—would make a huge difference.
Please consider contributing to this campaign and helping us show Chris the same love and generosity he so freely gives to all of us. Together, we can help him rebuild and get back on the road to doing what he does best—making the world a better, more thoughtful place through his art and his heart.
Thank you for your kindness and support.
